Not Even The Sky Is The Limit For Crystal Growth

III-Vs Review journal cover February 16, 1999 Huntsville, AL - NASA's crystal growth efforts, both commercial through the Space Product Development Program and scientific through the Microgravity Research Program have been recognized in the semiconductor journal III-Vs Review.

According to an article by Associate Editor Roy Szweda, space-based semiconductor crystal growth research is helping advance this important technology. The article notes that some of the most intriguing work is being done not only in Earth-bound laboratories, but also in orbit. In addition to discussions of the commercial Wake Shield Facility, it also discusses the commercial Space-DRUMS facility and a variety of scientific investigations aboard Spacelab.
